8-Port (DGS-1100-08P) D-Link Smart Gigabit Ethernet PoE Switch
D-Link’s DGS-1100 Series Gigabit Smart Managed Switches are an affordable solution for Small Business Networking applications businesses of all sizes that require simple network management.
DGS-1100 switches feature 5, 8, 10, 16, 24 and 26-gigabit port models that offer a wide variety of functions and features. The 5 and 8-port models come in compact metal desktop enclosures, while the 10, 16, 24, and 26-port models are in metal enclosures that support desktop or rack mounting.
Four models support 802.3af / at PoE, with a range of PoE power budgets ranging from 64W to 370W. There are also two PoE-powered models, one of which has the ability to transmit power to one or two downstream PoE devices.
D-Link’s DGS-1100 D-Link Green / Energy Saving Performance
These switches, which are compliant with the IEEE 802.3az EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) standard, consume less power by reducing power consumption when the used port is not used.
By deploying EEE equipment, users can reduce operating costs and the necessary cooling equipment, helping small and medium-sized businesses meet their budgets.
The DGS-1100 switches also feature D-Link Green technology, which automatically saves power. The switches monitor the link state of each port and reduce the power consumption of the interface in the absence of a link or detected network traffic.
The DGS-1100 switches are Easy to deploy
The DGS-1100 switches support an intuitive client-based utility (D-Link Network Assistant Utility) and a web-based management interface.
The client-based utility discovers all D-Link intelligent switches in the same Layer 2 network segment, making initial setup quick and easy. This allows for extended configuration of switches and basic administration of discovered devices, including password changes and firmware upgrades.
The Web-based management interface provides network administrators with a user-friendly way to manage the switch down to the port level. The interface is accessible from a Web browser, which allows you to control the switch from any PC connected to the network.
VLAN monitoring and bandwidth control byThe DGS-1100 switches
DGS-1100 switches support the VLAN for IP monitoring deployments. This gives the video traffic a dedicated VLAN and higher priority through the switch, separating the monitoring traffic from the rest of the network.
It also helps to ensure the quality of video traffic, saving businesses the added cost of network hardware dedicated to monitoring. Bandwidth Control can reserve bandwidth per port for important functions requiring higher bandwidth or higher priority.
PoE support
DGS-1100-05PD / 08P / -10MP / -24P / -26MP models support Ethernet power, simplifying deployments with IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points and other devices compatible with the standards.
The DGS-1100-08P, 10MP, -24P, and -26MP models are PoE 802.3af / at compliant, supporting up to 30W on each PoE port, without exceeding the Switch’s specific power budget. Using the management interface, an administrator can control various PoE functions, such as remotely restarting cameras or access points, from anywhere on the network, including the Internet.
Powered by PoE
The 5-port DGS-1100-05PD switch does not require local power. It is powered by an 802.3af / at PoE switch or injector via port 5. The 8-port DGS-1100-08PD switch can also be powered by an 802.3af-compliant switch or PoE injector. / at, or AC / DC AC adapter (supplied).
Pass-through PoE
The 5-port DGS-1100-05PD can also spread PoE power further downstream to the PDs connected to its ports 1 and 2. The amount of power available for PDs depends on the PoE source (802.3af or 802.3at ) and PoE classification of PD.
