LC/APC M – LC/UPC M Singlemode Simplex Optical Fiber Patch Cord Cable 1m
Fiber optic patch cable often called fiber optic patch cord or fiber jumper cable.
A fiber optic patch cord is constructed from a core with a high refractive index, surrounded by a coating with a low refractive index, that is strengthened by aramid yarns and surrounded by a protective jacket. Transparency of the core permits transmission of optic signals with little loss over great distances. The coating’s low refractive index reflects light back into the core, minimizing signal loss.
The protective aramid yarns and outer jacket minimizes physical damage to the core and coating. Fiber optic patch cables can be divided into different types based on fiber cable mode, cable structure, connector types, connector polishing types and cable sizes.
A patch cord is always fitted with connectors at both ends. A pigtail is similar to a patch cord and is the informal name given to a cable fitted with a connector at one end and bare wires (or bare fiber) at the other.
LC Type: LC stands for Lucent connectors. It is a small form-factor (SFF) fiber optic connector.
FC Type: FC stands for Ferrule Connection. It is fixed by way of a threaded barrel housing. The connector is precision made and manufactured to demanding specifications. The combination of a ceramic ferrule and a precision nickel plated brass housing provides consistent long-term mechanical and optical performance.
SC Type: SC stands for Subscriber Connector. It is fixed by way of push-pull latching mechanism which provides quick insertion and removal while also ensuring a positive connection.
